Just hold on in there…

Never underestimate the effect of Attitude in our lives.
It all goes down to attitude whether you are young or old, man or woman, employed or non-employed and of course rich or poor.
Life events have shown us not once, but many a times, how attitude eventually shapes our destinies.

Somebody somewhere is either involved in a project, is going through a challenging phase; e.g illness of self, family member or friends, having difficulty figuring out something in school or even life issues or is struggling to pay a bank loan and even questioning the wisdom of taking the loan in the first place.
Whatever is the case for you, you are not alone and I am here to reinforce a positive thought in your mind.

We have all been in situations where we practically do all that needs to be done but the anticipated results are seemingly never forthcoming.
And then looking around we see people who appear to be putting close to no effort but things keep getting better for them.
You then get a feeling of despondency and conclude that either you were just born to be miserable or this life is really unfair.

Everyone in this world has 24hours a day.
The difference comes in when one person is crying and cursing how their life is all messed up, while another one appreciates what God has given them and daily work on their weaknesses.
Not that there’s a problem in crying. Crying is actually important as a means of letting off pent up emotions. But we shouldn’t stay on the ground. Rather we should pick ourselves up and continue forging ahead

Recall the Bible story of the guys who were given talents.
The guy with one talent chose to bury his assuming that God wasn’t expecting much from him..
And we may frown at what that person did, but let us look at the log in our eyes first.
How many times have you heard the Bill Gates rise to riches story, but thought, “Well there’s nothing more to be discovered now is there?” or “some people are just genious!”

Or perhaps the success of the 100m track super star Usain Bolt and then you think, “Well he was given a really good talent.”
We forget that they have worked their way up never giving up despite numerous challenges.
Do you remember Thomas Alva Edison the guy who invented the light bulb?
Imagine the state the world would be in if he hadn’t persevered.

There’s a story about a Chinese Bamboo Tree which sums up my thoughts and I have quoted it from Don Miller.

“You take a little bamboo seed, plant it, water it, and fertilize it for a whole year, and nothing happens.

The second year you water it and fertilize it, and nothing happens.

The third year you water it and fertilize it, and nothing happens. How discouraging this becomes!

The fifth year you continue to water and fertilize the seed and then……take note.
Sometime during the fifth year, the Chinese bamboo tree sprouts and grows NINETY FEET IN SIX WEEKS!

Life is much akin to the growing process of the Chinese bamboo tree.

We seemingly do things right, and nothing happens.
But for those who do things right and are not discouraged and are persistent, things will happen.
Finally we begin to receive awards.”

So whatever it is you’re doing, be it praying for someone or something, paying of debts, working on a project, learning how to do something…..keep on till something happens!
